Peter Kilbinger Hansen – ChairmanPeter Kilbinger Hansen is the Chairman of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC and also the Chairman of the Evest Companies. Throughout his twenty-plus year career, Mr. Hansen founded several private and public companies (AMEX and Nasdaq), including broker/ dealers, a clearing corporation and a leading US equity institutional stock-crossing Alternative Trading System (ATS). Under Mr. Hansen’s leadership the businesses processed significant daily market share volume, with daily transaction volumes in the the billions. Mr. Hansen has been a featured speaker for many conferences for the brokerage and institutional investor industry over the past 15 years. Principal topics included modernization of the equity marketplace, equity transaction processing, transaction cost and effectively locating liquidity for transactions. Mr. Hansen has also been featured on CNN globally, speaking on the topic of risk management. Possessing significant global operations, compliance and financial transaction processing experience, Mr. Hansen has lead several equity financings, including public and private offerings, and successful financings including major investment banks such as Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, UBS, Societe Generale, Deutsche Bank, Wachovia, and ING, among others. Mr. Hansen has also lead several acquisitions and divestitures. As a private investor and financial technology entrepreneur, Mr. Hansen continues to invest in several financial services and technology companies. A native of Denmark, Mr. Hansen holds economics degrees from Neil's Brock Business School of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen University of Language and Economics.
Mark E. Donaldson - Managing Director and Co-Founder, Director Mark Donaldson is a Managing Director of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC where he co-manages the Company’s operations. Prior to co-founding Battea - Class Action Services, LLC, Mark Donaldson was a founder and Chief Financial Officer at Redwood Management, LLC, a San Francisco firm providing back-office services to broker-dealers and proprietary trading groups. Previously, Donaldson was the Chief Financial Officer at Headwaters Capital, a broker-dealer based in San Francisco, with offices in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia, managing $500 million on the long side. Since 1996 he has served on the board of several smaller proprietary trading groups and holding companies in the securities industry. Mr. Donaldson holds a bachelors degree from University of Colorado.
Andrew M. Wilson – Managing Director, DirectorAndrew M. Wilson is a Managing Director of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC where he co-manages the Company’s operations. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wilson was a Managing Partner of Evest Venture Partners. Mr. Wilson has an extensive track record of leadership, product innovation and revenue growth as a veteran of the financial technology industry. Mr. Wilson has served as President of a NASDAQ broker/dealer, a Director on the Board of a London-based FSA broker/dealer and held executive leadership positions with various trading technology companies. Mr. Wilson managed multiple business lines with complete P&L responsibility in the US, Europe and the Pacific Rim and possesses extensive process and management experience including corporate acquisitions and financings. Mr. Wilson previously served as Global Head, FIX Network Division at NYFIX Inc, where he directed the firm’s key relationships with buy-side institutions, broker/dealers, global exchanges and strategic vendor partners. He managed all aspects of sales, marketing, account management, product development and client on-boarding across asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Exchange Traded Derivatives. Previously, Mr. Wilson consulted for JP Morgan on electronic trading, served as Managing Director at UNX, Inc. and traded with Yamaichi International and Wertheim Schroeder and Co. Mr. Wilson holds a bachelors from the University of Delaware.
Jonathan R. Wade - Co-Founder, DirectorJonathan Wade is one of the founders of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC. Mr. Wade developed the Company’s proprietary claims processing technology, “the Claims Engine” and acts as chief developer directing software engineering for the firm. Mr. Wade manages the fulfillment process and systems, as well as relationships with all claims administrators. He is educated and well versed in Oracle database technology as well as data management processes. He has software development experience in multiple front-end database platforms. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Wade worked for Headwaters Capital, LLC, a broker-dealer with membership on all major US equity exchanges. He graduated cum laude from San Francisco State University.
Mark Zinn- DirectorMark Zinn is a Director of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC. Prior to joining Battea - Class Action Services, LLC, Mr. Zinn was with Metro Link, where he raised angel and first round financing and developed the company’s sales organization. Previously, Mr. Zinn built and managed multiple professional trading operations for Pax Clearing in Chicago, New York and Florida. He established relationships with the top 100 businesses in Florida and executed for hedge funds while at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Zinn has also raised capital for managed accounts and private placements as well as managing multiple successful private offerings. Mr. Zinn began his career with LF Rothschild & Oppenheimer Co. He is an alumnus of New York University Stern School and a obtained his General Securities Principal, Series 24 as well as Registered Investment Adviser Series 65, 7, and 63.
Lars Kragh – Chief Information Officer, DirectorLars Kragh is a Chief Information Officer of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC. Mr, Kragh is also a Managing Director of Evest Venture Partners. Mr. Kragh has over twenty years experience in financial technology. As a co-founder and executive at NYFIX Inc., Mr. Kragh held a variety of technical leadership roles throughout the company’s history, most recently as Chief Information Officer from July 1999 to 2006. Prior to 1999, Mr. Kragh was Executive Vice President of Research and Development and held other technology management positions since the company was founded in 1991. As lead technologist for NYFIX, Mr. Kragh managed a product portfolio ranging from equity Order Management Systems (OMS), market making workstations, trade routing engines and network services. With detailed knowledge of products’ interaction, including cross division values and overlap issues, Mr. Kragh possesses in depth equity industry knowledge spanning market structure, exchanges, broker/dealers and asset management firms in addition to detailed design and architecture expertise across various subject matters including Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA), execution quality, networking and display mechanisms. Mr. Kragh directed all production technology including data centers and network and was responsible for mission critical infrastructure vital to the financial industry. Mr. Kragh has extensive experience with data system security, disaster recovery planning and infrastructure development. Prior to 1991 Mr. Kragh developed network and transactional systems for the banking industry involving numerous trading system integrations with global telecom and market data providers. He has filed a number of patents around innovative technical and business concepts over the last 15 years. Mr. Kragh holds a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Danish University of Technology.
Kristian Engsig – Managing Director – Battea- Class Action Support Services Europe S.L.Kristian Engsig is Managing Director of Battea- Class Action Support Services Europe S.L., Battea’s exclusive support agents in Europe. Mr. Engsig, based in Copenhagen, has more than 25 years experience in international business. Mr. Engsig is a life-long entrepreneur and has founded several companies in Scandinavia, mainly within the sectors of retail and wholesale of consumer products. Under Mr. Engsig’s control, most of those companies have grown to become market leaders within their respective fields of business. Mr. Engsig will focus on expanding Battea’s Scandinavian operations and will work out of the Company´s Copenhagen office.
Humberto Toro – Managing Director – Battea- Class Action Support Services Europe S.L.
Humberto Toro is Managing Director of Battea- Class Action Support Services Europe S.L., Battea’s exclusive support agents in Europe. Mr. Toro, based in Madrid, has over twenty-years experience in international business in the sectors of energy, technology, real estate and finance. Mr. Toro’s experience varies from founding and managing startups to advising and participating in active investments in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia. During his career, Mr. Toro has advised and been involved in negotiations for deals for both private individuals as well as government institutions in a variety of industries including food and beverage, oil exploration, agriculture and financial institutions, among others. While living in Colombia during the 1990s, Mr. Toro partnered with and advised such Spanish companies as Empresarios Agrupados, Esmena, Duro Felguera, Cepsa and various others in developing business in the Latin American markets, including the awarding of seven exploration and incremental production deals from Ecopetrol, the Colombian state-owned oil company. In Panama, Mr. Toro advised the Panamanian government in achieving its first privatization through the sale of the state-owned Citricos de Chiriqui to private investors. Most recently, in Asia Mr. Toro has developed a technology project for Softbank in Japan and brokered a deal between the Shanghai Stock Exchange and a leading European Telecom leader. He currently serves as advisor to New York M&A Investment Bank, Violy and Company and some of his past and present involvements include: CEO and Founder of Eurolink Network Inc. and Eurolink Securities, US; Director of Century Pacific Limited, Hong Kong; VP and Board member of Texas Oil and Gas Ltd., Panama. Mr. Toro holds a B.S. in Economics from Northeastern University.
Woody Wood – Vice President, Director of SalesWoody Wood has over 20 years of sales and management experience in the financial services sector, and a proven record of building and managing sales organizations, distribution channels, and partner alliances. Prior to joining Battea - Class Action Services, LLC, Woody held management positions with NYFIX, Inc. and Javelin Technologies. As VP, Head of Institutional Account Management at NYFIX, Woody managed a team responsible for client relationships within the buyside community. As a senior account executive, Woody was the top revenue producer, and aggressively grew network sales for the firm, including 200% in a single year. Prior to NYFIX/Javelin, Woody managed institutional business development for Xigo, Inc. an internet-based persistent search and relevance ranking technology for the financial services sector. At Advent, Woody was the 20th employee of the leader in institutional portfolio management software where he was a top producer and developed a partnership marketing strategy via relationships with key providers/brokers in the space. Woody began his career as a registered representative with Morgan Keegan & Company. He holds a bachelors degree from Emory University.
Christie Cellini – Vice President, OperationsChristie Cellini is Vice President of Operations for Battea - Class Action Services, LLC. Ms. Cellini heads up the firms efforts in analyzing case-data where she scours the universe of securities litigation settlements for updates and new information. Ms. Cellini also handles all administrator communications regarding client claims. Before joining Battea - Class Action Services, LLC, Ms. Cellini performed mutual fund accounting and financial reporting duties for Franklin Templeton. She holds a bachelors degree from California State University Sacramento and earned her MBA from the University of San Francisco.
Sean Braniff – Vice President, Director of Client ServiceSean Braniff is responsible for client services at Battea - Class Action Services, LLC. In 2009, Mr. Braniff will lead several initiatives to increase the effectiveness of client communications and the general levels of client services. Mr. Braniff was one of the original founders of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC. Prior to that, Mr. Braniff was Chief Operating Officer of Headwaters Capital, LLC a San Francisco-based broker-dealer specializing in derivatives trading and Chief Executive of Redwood Management, LLC which provided services exclusively to Headwaters Capital and its associated firms. He holds a bachelors degree in business from the University of Colorado and a certificate in financial planning from the University of California at Berkeley.
Patrick Gilchrist – Vice President, Sales & Client ServicesPatrick Gilchrist focuses on international business development and client services initiatives for Battea. Mr. Gilchrist has over a decade of experience in financial services IT services and systems in both sales and account management capacities. At NYFIX, Inc., a technology and transaction services company serving financial clients including banks, brokerage firms, and institutional investors, Mr. Gilchrist managed a team responsible for relationships within the brokerage community. Key achievements included developing and executing the build out and rapid growth of a network infrastructure between financial counterparties and establishing key partnerships to create additional sales channels for the firm. Mr. Gilchrist began his career in sales and marketing where he specialized in major accounts and project management. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
Jennifer P. Carberry – Vice President, Director of Marketing Jennifer P. Carberry is Vice President of Battea - Class Action Services, LLC where she handles marketing and corporate communications for the firm. Ms. Carberry is also a Managing Director of Evest Venture Partners, where she advises venture investments and corporate clients in the development of corporate communications, brand and marketing strategy and marketing program execution. Ms. Carberry has over a decade of experience in the financial and technology market segments. Prior to joining Evest, Ms. Carberry held the senior marketing roles with two public companies in the technology space: Competitive Technologies, specializing in intellectual property licensing and technology commercialization, market assessment and valuation; and NYFIX, Inc. with an emphasis in automated trading and execution solutions for the financial services/institutional trading marketplace. In these roles, Ms. Carberry directed marketing, investor and media relations activities. Ms. Carberry began her career in the hedge fund markets, where she conducted research for a financial consulting firm specializing in alternative investments. Ms. Carberry is a cum laude graduate of Columbia University.
